The Maldives on Friday recorded 179 positive cases of COVID-19.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), out of the 5,120 samples tested over the past 24 hours, 42 positive cases were recorded from the Greater Male' Region while 120 cases were reported from the atolls. 17 cases were reported from operational resorts. This increases the archipelago's tally to 81,653.
While 1,965 cases are active at this time, 25 people are currently hospitalized. The Maldives' toll remains at 226.
