A doctor drowning off Villimale' was rescued by a police officer on Friday.
Media official from Maldives Police Services said it received reports of a 39-year-old Nepalese male drowning in Villimale' at 5:41 pm on Friday. He was rescued by a police officer who was nearby the area where he was in distress, the police said.
The man was taken to shore in a launch that approached from the Villimale' boatyard area. He was then transferred to Villimale' Hospital. His condition is improving, the police said.
