Three suspects who attacked and beat up a police officer have been arrested.
Maldives Police said four individuals who belong to a gang active in capital Male' drove two motorcycles at a dangerously high speed last Wednesday night. The four men obstructed a traffic officer from performing his duties, attacked him, and threatened him, the police said.
According to the police, three out of the four men were arrested n Thursday. They are Mohamed Wiaam, 27, Hassan Aleem, 22, and Shan Abdulla, 20. All three have criminal records.
The three men were presented before a judge on Friday, who ordered for them to be remanded at a custodial jail for seven days.
