The main-ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)'s Presidential candidate, and incumbent President Ibrahim Solih's representatives met with the Maldives' most prominent businessman Mohamed Moosa (Uchchu).
MDP Parliamentary Group Leader Mohamed Aslam, Hulhumale' MP Ali Niyaz, and Dhuvaafaru MP Ismail Ahmed met with Mohamed Moosa at one of his resorts, Kuredhdhoo Island Resort. No details of the meeting have been shared.
During the MDP presidential primary, the party's President and Parliament Speaker, Mohamed Nasheed, also met with Mohamed Moosa. Nasheed has said he would not back President Solih in the upcoming presidential election and has been promoting his own wing of the party.
Local politicians meet with Mohamed Moosa to request his assistance in various matters, both in secret and openly.
