BML Guesthouse Maldives Conference has begun this morning with 150 guesthouse owners and major travel agents.
The Conference was kicked off by Finance Minister Mohamed Munawwar.
In his opening remarks, Finance Minister Mohamed Munawwar said that this Guesthouse Maldives Conference is an essential conference for a developing sector and pledged government assistance to the sector. He added the sector was an example to the tourism sector, adding that developing and bringing out youth into the business sector was a key aim of the Government.
Products aimed at the guesthouse sector will be introduced in the one-day Conference held in Dharubaaruge. World famous brands such as American Express and Agoda had signed up for the Conference and heads of these companies are expected to address the Conference.
