President Yameen begins Fuvahmulah tour

President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayoom has begun the tour of Fuvahmulah City this evening. He was given a red carpet welcome on arrival to the city by the citizens of the city, led by Speaker of Parliament Abdullah Maseeh Mohamed.

In addition to the welcome, many members of public had handed over membership application forms for Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) to the President.

As part of his visit, President Yameen will officially inaugurate the commencement of construction on the water and sewerage system in Fuvahmulah.

The President is accompanied by Minister of Environment and Energy Thoriq Ibrahim, Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim, Vice President of Progressive Party of Maldives and Parliament Member of Fonadhoo constituency Abdul Raheem Abdullah, Parliament Member of South Fuvahmulah constituency Ali Shah and Minister of State for Social Affairs, at the President’s Office, Mohamed Ghassaan Maumoon.

The city home to 9000 citizens was accorded city status a few days ago.
