The Health Center in Haa Dhaal Atoll Makunodhoo island has begun providing 24 hour service.
The health center was previously providing service 16 hours a day. The center was upgraded to 24 hour service after the centre was equipped with essential facilities including a laboratory.
Health Ministry said the number of beds and staff have also been added as part of the revamp.
Makunudhoo joins 32 other health centers that provide round the clock service.
President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom during his trip to Makunudhoo last month had pledged uninterrupted service at the island's health centre.
