Maldivian resorts Kuramathi Island Resort and Maafushivaru have received the Travel Life Gold Award.
Regarding the awards received by the two resorts which are both owned by the same company, Kuramathi Island Resort released a statement saying that receiving this award is big accomplishment for both resorts.
Abdul Luthufee, the General Manager of Kuramathi Island Resort said that this award was received due to the attention Kuramathi gives to environmental issues, and that lots of effort will be put into maintaining this accomplishment.

Travel Life Gold Award is awarded to resorts with sustainable tourism. The resort has three high class villas, swimming pools and also boasts tennis courts.
