Police are investigating a death threat against president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom posted on Facebook.
Police confirmed the investigation but said no arrests have been made so far.
Sources say the alleged threat against president Yameen was posted on the Facebook status of an unconfirmed individual.
In a similar incident, police had been looking into a threat to blow up the state run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) which was also posted on a private Facebook status.
