A 27 year old woman has been arrested while attempting to smuggle a large quantity of drugs through the Kaadehdhoo doemctic airport.
Police said that 98 rubber packets containing drugs were discovered in her possession when she was arrested late Sunday.
The woman was searched after police received a tip-off of an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of drugs into Kaadehdhoo.
Thinadhoo Police station along with the Maldives Drug Enforcement Department have launched a joint investigation.
