State revenue reaches MVR 1.5 bln, registers 16.2% growth

The state has accumulated MVR 1.5 billion as gross revenue by the end March 2018, marking a 16.2% growth in state wealth.

According to the statistics of Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) the state has received revenue 23% more than initial forecasts. State has collected USD 71.2 million in foreign currency as revenue while Business Profit Tax (BPT) collected reached MVR 112 million.

The Maldives government had also registered the collection of MVR 780 million in Goods and Service Tax (GST).

State accumulated MVR 76 million from Green Tax, which was introduced in 2017. Government had also collected MVR 323 million as tourism land rent while MVR 59 million was collected from airport development fee.
