Prominent opposition lawmaker's terrorism trial on Thur

The terrorism charged parliament member of south-Machhangolhi Abdulla Sinan's trial is scheduled at Criminal Court on Thursday.

According to the lawmaker's advocates Criminal Court had tabled his trial hearing at 15:00hrs on Thursday afternoon, which is the initial hearing and opening statement delivery from both state and defendant.

Earlier on April 1, Criminal Court had ordered Sinan to be held in remand until the end of his ongoing trial.

The opposition aligned lawmaker is tried for the act of terrorism for attempting to overthrow the government unconstitutionally.

Other than Sinan the state has pressed terrorism charges against three more lawmakers which includes JP leader Abdullah Riyaz, Ahmed Faris Maumoon and Ilham Ahmed.
