Police have arrested a woman with a large quantity of suspected illegal narcotics near the main prison in Maafushi island.
Police said the 37 year old woman was arrested on Thursday. When she was searched a balloon and a rubber packet full of what is believed to be drugs were found, police said.
The woman has now been remanded for 15 days. Police however, did not say whether the woman was trying to smuggle the drugs into prison.
