Asphalt installation on bridge linking roads next week

Housing Ministry on Saturday has confirmed the asphalt installation on roads linking the Sinamale' bridge will commence next week.

Under the ring-road project the eastern segment and southern section up to Marry-Brown (towards the west-end) have been sealed off from public transportation to install asphalt on the road segments.

The project has progressed at a considerably fast pace with sewerage system already installed, while bulldozers are active on the ring-road site (stretching all the way from Hulhumale' ferry terminal to Marry-Brown Maldives) to level the road structure.

Housing Ministry's media consultant Ahmed Fazaal noted installation of asphalt will commence from Hulhumale' ferry terminal point (east-end of Male' outer road) and reach all the way across the southern section of Boduthakurufaanu Magu).

"Even now several important work tied to the project are underway and we expect asphalt installation will commence and conclude faster than our projected timeline," Fazaal said.

With the completion of ring-road project the selected sections of Boduthakurufaanu Magu will have two lanes comparatively wider than original.

Pavements for pedestrians have been stretched wider as well while Housing Ministry will initiate planting trees on either sides of the roads.
