Ex-minister criticizes govt for dismissing employees

Former Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has accused the current administration of dismissing loyal government employees who worked hard towards bringing development to the nation during former president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom's tenure.

In a a tweet posted by Dr Muizzu in response to news reports of 9 employees working in Planning Ministry receiving notice of dismissal in addition to four other employees in Kudahuvadhoo, he said a large number of employees who worked on road development projects during Yameen's tenure are being dismissed. He added that the employees and their families are negatively impacted due to such decisions.

While Muizzu is alleging that the current administration is dismissing employees without due cause, over 400 people filed complaints that the former administration dismissed them from their posts for political reasons, or against regulation.
