ACCA accounting association conducts training program

The Maldives wing of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), 'AMAAM' has conducted special training program for those in the field of accounting and finance.

Over 40 people took part in the training program organized by ACCA and AMAAM.

The training program was held at the Auditor General's Office and Maldivians working in financing and accounting sector gave information at the program.

Speakers at the program included Partner at Crowe Howarth Mohamed Zameem, FJS Managing Partner Fareesha Shareef, HDFC's Assistant General Manager Ahmed Shareef, and Mohamed Haleem, who hold many qualifications in Accounting and Finance, CTL Strategies Senior Tax Advisor Abdulla Hausan Shareef and Abdullah Waris from the same company.

An official from AMAAM said the purpose of the program was to introduce more Maldivians to the field of Finance and Accounting.

"We are witnessing the industry moving forward. While training programs such as this were taught by foreign experts in the past, today, the training are carried out by Maldivians. This attests to the fact that the sector is progressing. Every year accountants need a refresher, therefore these training are very important." said the AMAAM Official.
