Voters list of the upcoming local council election is publicized.
According to the list publicized by the Election Commission (EC), 269,562 people are eligible for voting. However, the figure might change based on the complaints.
EC stated that they have opened for complaints until 3rd of February 2020.
If it is islands the complaints can be sent to the council offices. In the case of cities, to the city council offices. However, in Male’ complaints should be submitted to EC’s complaint centre.
The local council election is slated for 4th of April and 982 councillors will be elected, out of which 33% will be designated for women.
