Embassy requests Maldivians in China to register with the Embassy

The Maldivian Embassy in China has requested Maldivians residing in China to register with the Embassy due to the coronavirus outbreak in China.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has revealed that there are 6 Maldivians living in the Wuhan city of China where the outbreak is severe. The Embassy states that they are in contact with those Maldivians and that all are in good health.

The Foreign Ministry is working with China’s Foreign Ministry to take the necessary precautionary measures. The Ministry said that China’s Foreign Ministry has assured the safety measures of international students in China.

“In addition, the country has assured that they are taking the precautionary measures and implementing protocols of WHO to deal with the outbreak. In line with the protocols, the movement in and out of Wuhan is locked down”, revealed Foreign Ministry.

Since the virus is spreading to other areas of China, the Embassy requests all Maldivians in China to register with the Embassy.

According to the National Health Commission of China, the people who got the virus are found from 13 provinces of China thus far.
