Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) has revealed that the commission will be assessing the new rehabilitation center being built at K. Himmafushi to ensure that it meets the approved standards.
A statement released by the commission on Wednesday said officials from the commission visited the facility earlier that day. During the visit, the officials had assessed whether the facility was fit for housing those under state care, and whether it met the required standards.
A report based on their findings will soon be shared with relevant authorities, the statement further read.
