The “Run in Run” organized by Total Fitness Group (TFG) is to be held next month.
The run is dedicated to women on the occasion of this year’s Internation Women’s Day - which is marked on the 8th of March every year. The purpose of the run is to empower women and to raise awareness of health and wellbeing.
Care Society has been assigned as the main partner of the run. According to TFG the reason for choosing Care Society as the main partner is to assist them in raising funds for the disabled people. Care society is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that is registered in the Maldives since 1998 to provide support and assistance to the most vulnerable groups such as children, women and disabled people.
In this year’s run, two categories have been decided. A category of 3.5 kilometres run for children of above 8 and elderly citizens for which a registration fee of MVR 299 is to be charged. The 2nd category is 7 kilometres run for people of above 16-years for a registration fee of MVR 399. For both the groups, 500 slots are opened.
The t-shirts for the run will be available at TFG, from 25 of this month onward for MVR 250.TFG said that 20% of the funds that will be generated from the registration fee and by selling the t-shirts will be donated to Care Society.
