Daily COVID-19 stats: Maldives registers 20th death, 66 new cases

The Maldives recorded its 20th COVID-19 death, and 66 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday.

The new cases identified on Tuesday are of 52 locals and 14 foreigners. This brings the total number of cases in the Maldives to 5,223. While 2,354 cases are currently active, 2,849 people have recovered until now.

The Health Protection Agency, HPA earlier on Tuesday said a 67 year old Maldivian male at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital’s emergency room passed away at 12:12pm on Tuesday. The man was taken to the hospital on 10th August. The death toll has now reached 20.
