Those over the age of 60 can register for Pfizer vaccine, says HPA

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has stated that those over the age of 60 can register to receive the PFizer vaccine.

HPA Monday said while Pfizer vaccination in Greater Male' Area began on April 11th to those on long term medication for chronic diseases above the age of 16, people aged 60 and above are now eligible to register for the Pfizer vaccine.

While the Maldives received 5,850 doses of the vaccine through the global COVAX initiative, the Maldives government will not be procuring additional doses of the vaccine. Therefore, due to limited stock of the vaccine, vaccination will be given for registered individuals by appointment only, on a first come first serve basis, said HPA.
