New Deputy Police Commissioners appointed

Appointments have been made to the post of Deputy Commissioner of Police.

At a ceremony held at the Iskandar Building on Friday, Assistant Commissioner of Police Farhad Fikree and Ismail Naveen were appointed as Deputy Commissioners. Their letters of appointment were presented by Homeland Security and Technology Minister Ali Ihsan.

The ceremony was attended by the Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau and several senior police officers.

Farhad Fikree joined the Maldives Police Service (MPS) on March 30, 1990. Over his 32 years in the police service, he has served in various capacities within MPS, including leadership roles in operational, investigative, administrative, and support departments. Before his appointment as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Farhad held the positions of Head of Operational Support Command and Acting Head of People Directorate.

Ismail Naveen, who joined MPS on July 7, 1994, has dedicated 29 years to MPS. Like Fikree, Naveen has contributed significantly across different departments of the police force, including operational, investigative, administrative, and support departments. Until he was appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police, Naveen served as the Head of Corporate Services Directorate.
