A man who went missing after diving underwater to recover the anchor of a vessel has been found dead.
Maldives Police Service revealed that the body of the expatriate crewman was recovered at a depth of 21 meters, around 4:21pm on Friday afternoon. The man's body has now been transferred to capital Male'.
The man was reported missing earlier on Friday morning when he did not resurface after he dove underwater to pull out the anchor of fishing boat 'Saahibaa', which was anchored at Gulhifalhu. His body was found while the Marine Police, along with the Coast Guard and diving teams were working to locate the man.
The incident occurred on Friday morning. Eight Maldivian crewman were aboard the vessel at the time of the incident.
