Speed boats docked at Mahibadhoo engulfed in fire

Several speed boats docked at ADh. Mahibadhoo harbour caught on fire early Wednesday morning

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said the incident occurred during the wee hours of Wednesday around 5:45 am. MNDF, police and residents of Mahibadhoo are currently working to quell the fire, said MNDF.

Five speed boats were damaged in the fire incident, including a sea ambulance, a police vessel and the atoll council's speed boat. Two speed boats owned by a well known oil supply company and two dinghy vessels were also affected by the fire.

Owner of HMH company, whose speed boats were damaged in the fire said the fire first broke out on the sea ambulance, and spread to the other vessels docked at the harbour.
