COVID-19: Over 5,700 children among active cases

The Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) has stated that active cases of COVID-19 include over 5,700 children.

The Maldives has reported 67,670 positive cases thus far, out of which 19,670 cases are active.

According to HEOC, 5,732 children are among the active cases. Out of these, 3,242 children are below the age of ten. 2,490 children are between the ages of 10 and 17.

Additionally, 5,607 people who have COVID-19 belong to the 18-29 age bracket while 5,740 people are between the ages 30 and 39. Furthermore, 3,062 people between the ages of 40 and 49 are currently battling the virus while 1,895 people between the ages 60-69 years old are also ill. 1,514 elderly people have COVID-19, and out of these, the ages of 450 people cannot be determined.

The archipelago has recorded 48,086 recoveries until now. The country's toll is 185.
