The Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) has introduced an emergency number for COVID-19 related medical emergencies.
HEOC Thursday said the Emergency Medical Service was established by the Health Ministry in liaison with Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) and Maldives Police Service. The service is currently only available in the Greater Male' Region for COVID-19 patients who have severe breathing difficulties, have persistent pain or pressure in the chest or if a patient is in an unconscious or unresponsive state, and requires ambulance services, said HEOC.
