Australian gov't donates over 3.5 tonnes of PPE to the Maldives

The Australian government has donated over 3.5 tonnes of PPE to the Maldives.

The donation was handed over to the Maldives government at the Australian High Commission in Sri Lanka. The Australian High Commission in Sri Lanka said the items were donated to the Maldives to ensure the safety of frontline workers and assured that it would continue to provide COVID-19 support to the Maldives.

The items donated to the Maldives include 8,500 PPE, 137,500 surgical gloves, and 30,000 face masks. The value of the items is over MVR 1.4 million.

The Australian government's total COVID support to the Maldives now exceeds MVR 9 million.
