The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid, met with the President-Designate of COP26, Alok Sharma, on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Minister Shahid discussed the priority areas he intends to put forward in delivering his Presidency of Hope as the President of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. Minister Shahid also briefed him on the preparations that are underway in the Maldives for COP26.
Minister Shahid was accompanied by the High Commissioner of Maldives to the UK Dr Farah Faizal and Counsellor Mr Yameen Shahid.
The COP26 is scheduled to be held in the city of Glasgow, Scotland from 31 October to 12 November 2021 under the presidency of the United Kingdom.
