89 percent of MACL employees fully vaccinated

89 percent of employees at Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

MACL started a campaign to ensure its staff are vaccinated against COVID-19 on March 2. The company, which runs Maldives' main international airport, said 99.9 percent of employees have received the first dose of the vaccine while 89.3 percent have received the second dose.

MACL's CEO, Mr. Gordon Andrew Stewart said ensuring that the company's employees are vaccinated is the most important work done to guarantee the safety of passengers.

The Maldives began its COVID-19 vaccine program in February. Since then, 305,571 people have received both doses of the vaccine. The government has launched a special campaign to vaccinate over 90 percent of the eligible population.
