Cardiac center services resume at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital

Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital (KRC)'s Cardiac Centre services have been resumed.

Cardiac center services were launched in KRC on October 11, 2019 under the ministership of former Health Minister Abdulla Ameen. The center's services were halted a month later when the doctor working at the center departed from the Maldives.

An official from KRC said after closely working with the Health Ministry, a specialist doctor has now been appointed to the cardiac center. Services will be provided on appointment basis, although priority will be given to those requiring emergency services, the official said.

The cardiac center at KRC provides Holter monitor, cardiac consultation, ECG, echo cardiogram and TMT services. The center's services have been resumed following a visit to the center by President Ibraham Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed in July. The matter was brought to the Presidents' attention during the visit.
