Maldives Meteorological Service has issued orange alerts to 11 atolls due to bad weather conditions.
The orange alert was issued to atolls between Noonu and Dhaalu atoll, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The MET office said strong winds of 34 to 40 mph and gust winds of 55 mph with rough seas are expected.
Additionally, yellow alert has been issued to 16 atolls between Haa Alif and Laamu atoll. The yellow alert was issued from 07:30 am until 11:30 am. The alert said torrential rain, strong winds of 25 to 30 mph, and gusts of 50 mph with rough seas and swell surges are expected.
Authorities have warned travelers to practice caution when traveling.
