Maldives Meteorological Services has extended the yellow alert issued due to bad weather.
The Met Office expects strong winds between 25 to 35 mph, and gusts of 50 mph with generally rough seas. The alert was first issued until 08:30 Saturday morning, but has now been extended until 04:30 pm. Therefore, travelers are advised to practice caution, the Met Office said.
