Dhangethi murder: Suspect's remand extended by 15 days

Bangladeshi national, Shaolom 'Salim' Miah, who was arrested for the murder of Dhangethi entrepreneur, Mahmood Aboobakuru, will remain in detention for an additional 15 days.

Mahmood, 57, was found murdered inside a well in an abandoned house on Dhangethi island on October 15. Salim, who lives in a nearby house as a caretaker of an elderly man, was arrested on October 16 after the police found incriminating evidence that links him to Mahmood's murder. The Court ordered for him to be remanded for 15 days on October 17. Salim was presented to Court on Sunday, during which the Court ordered a further extension of the remand period by an additional 15 days.

Mahmood's body had extensive injuries due to multiple stabbings when his body was discovered. The police have said Salim did not have any accomplices in carrying out Mahmood's murder and that he had acted alone.
