The President’s Office on Wednesday opened applications for vacancies at the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). The opportunity has reopened following the resignation of five members of the commission.
Application forms are available from the reception of the President’s Office and could be downloaded from the official website of the President’s Office. Applications would be accepted at the President’s Office from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on January 16-17, 2021.
The most recent members of ACC were Commission President Mariyam Shiuna, Vice President Fathimath Anoola, and member Aishath Abdulla. They resigned from the commission on December 27 after the Parliament Committee on Independent Institutions recommended their termination based on an audit report on the commission's performance. Before their resignation, two other members, Ali Ashraf and Ibrahim Shakeel, also resigned from the commission. They tendered their resignation on November 15.
