MTCC will be constructing bridges in two years: CEO Azim

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC)'s CEO Ahmed Azim has said the company would have the capacity to construct bridges within two years. He made the statement while speaking on a program aired by local TV channel, 'Sangu TV' Wednesday night.

Last month, during a ceremony held to mark MTCC's 41st anniversary, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih noted that the past two years were MTCC's most active and successful years. He had urged MTCC to move on to bigger projects such as building bridges.

Referring to the President's request, CEO Azim said the President's vision aligns with the company's own vision and that the state-owned company is paving the way to reach the milestone.

'We do not doubt that MTCC can reach the capacity to build bridges of various sizes within two years. We are working towards it,' Azim said.

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Plc (MTCC) was incorporated on 18 December 1980 as the first public company in the Maldives. MTCC has positioned itself as the leading marine and land transport provider and civil and marine constructor throughout its existence.
