National Bank, the Bank of Maldives (BML) has opened a Housing Grant as part of the series of 12 high-impact monthly community initiatives to celebrate the Bank’s 40th anniversary in November. Through this, the Bank will build and fully furnish houses for three vulnerable families across the country.
The fund is open for NGOs and island councils to nominate families in need of safe housing anywhere in the country.
Commenting on the initiative, BML’s CEO and Managing Director, Tim Sawyer said the initiative aims to help the most vulnerable families in the communities by providing a safe and healthy environment to live in. Through this project, the Bank aims to make a difference in people’s lives, their health and well-being, and offer stability and strength to those who need it most, he said.
Applications can be emailed to BML by 31st March 2022.
The 40th Anniversary monthly initiatives announced by BML to date include the BML Scholarship Fund, Inspiring Learning - upgrading the National Library, and BML Startup Grant.
