Pres Solih discharged from hospital following surgery

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said he was doing well following thyroid surgery and that he would return to the Maldives soon.

The President underwent surgery in Singapore on February 25, leaving Vice President Faisal Naseem in charge for the duration of the surgery. The President temporarily transferred power to Vice President Faisal at 6 am on Friday and resumed his duties of office at 9.30 am.

In a tweet published on Tuesday, President Solih said he had been discharged from the hospital earlier that morning. He said he was doing well and that he would be returning to the Maldives in a few days. In his tweet, he thanked everyone for their well wishes.
