The Community Eco Park developed in Ha. Molhadhoo was opened on Thursday under the national bank, Bank of Maldives (BML) 's Community Fund initiative. The project focuses on increasing awareness and encouraging visitors to experience the natural beauty of the area while helping preserve it for future generations.
The Community Eco Park is designed with a viewing platform and is equipped with solar lighting, benches and seating area with waste bins to create an area that is relaxing and environmentally sustainable.
Commenting on the project, the local NGO Chill Bros, stated the project was carried out to strengthen local tourism in the island and create a way for visitors to experience the natural beauty of the island.
The Community Fund is an initiative of BML to empower individuals to contribute to their communities through sustainable projects. The Fund supports projects in the thematic areas of education, environment, sports and community development. The Bank is currently evaluating the proposals received for the first quarter of this year.
