Bank of Maldives (BML) staff Friday held a clean-up event at the Male' Swimming Track and Hulhumale' Phase 2 beach area to coincide with the International Day of Happiness celebrated annually on March 20.
The event was held from 6:00 am to 9:00 am in partnership with Swimming Association of Maldives, Parley, Dive Desk and Dive Club Maldives.
As per BML, a total of 660 kg of debris and waste was collected from both locations including 84 kg of plastic which was delivered to Parley for recycling.
Over 80 BML volunteers participated in the community work carried out today. Last year, BML celebrated the day by doing various activities to support local communities in V. Felidhoo, L. Fonadhoo and HDh. Kulhudhuffushi.
