A fire broke out in Evening Cafe' located in Orchid Magu, Male' City, on Wednesday evening.
The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) received reports of the fire around 6:12 pm. MNDF said the fire broke out in the cafe's kitchen. People were evacuated from nearby homes, and some were taken to hospital after being affected by the smoke.
The fire has now been controlled.
