The main-ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)'s presidential primary candidate and the party's President, Mohamed Nasheed, has departed to Kaafu and Lhaviyani atoll for his primary campaign.
Nasheed will be contesting against President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih for the party's presidential campaign slated for January 28. The campaigns of both candidates are ongoing and in full swing.
President Nasheed's atoll campaign tours began in the three northernmost atolls of the country: Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, and Shaviyani atoll. Since then, he has visited Noonu, Raa, Baa, Gnaviyani, Thaa, Vaavu, and Meemu atoll, where he held rallies and went door to door.
After concluding his tour of Kaafu and Lhaviyani atoll, Nasheed will visit Gaafu Alifu and Gaafu Dhaalu atoll from January 19 to 21. He will visit the southernmost Addu City as the final stop in his campaign from January 23 to 24.
