Dialysis services are now available at Lh. Atoll Hospital.
A dialysis center was built at the Lh. Atoll Hospital as part of utility company MWSC's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy. The center was completed and handed over to the hospital last January, and was officially opened on Sunday.
The center is dedicated to providing services to people who need treatment for kidney diseases. The center has three beds and state-of-the-art facilities to provide dialysis services.
The objective of establishing such a center in Naifaru is to provide quality health services to people seeking treatment for kidney disease in the atolls of the region. The center will enable people seeking treatment for kidney disease in the area to seek treatment from Naifaru instead of traveling to Male.
In addition, the center will alleviate the cost of treatment for kidney diseases and the difficulties in obtaining services.
The center was built at a cost of more than MVR 800,000. MWSC said it would continue to provide assistance to society in various fields as part of its social responsibility.
