A suspect arrested in connection with a kidnapping has been remanded to custody for a period of 15 days by the Criminal Court.
The police on Saturday said three people who were being held against their will were rescued from a Henveiru house in Male' City. Police used force to enter a home on Abadhahfehi Magu after receiving a tip-off that some people were being held hostage. The rescued hostages had sustained various injuries and were promptly taken to IGMH for treatment.
The police said two people had been arrested in connection to the case, including an underage boy. The adult suspect has been remanded in custody for 15 days, while the underage suspect has been handed over to his family.
