MIRA extends income tax deadline

The deadline for filing income tax returns and making payments for last year has been extended.

The payment deadline has been rescheduled to July 9, as the Al-ha Eid holiday fall on the last week of June. The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has stated that taxpayers can prepare and submit their income tax returns for the previous year, along with the required financial statements, within this extended period.

While the income tax deadline has been adjusted, MIRA emphasizes that all other deadlines remain unchanged. Consequently, the deadlines for filing and paying May GST returns, green tax returns, airport taxes and fees, and tourism land rent for the third quarter of this year will remain as of July 2, as previously announced.

MIRA strongly encourages individuals to utilize its online portal, MIRA Connect, to file and pay taxes with convenience and security.
