The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has forecast rough seas in the northern atolls for today and tomorrow.
The Met Office has urged seafarers to be cautious of the weather, as wave heights are expected to reach between three to six feet.
A Met Office official told AVAS that the weather conditions will be unfavorable today and tomorrow but will gradually improve starting from Wednesday.
The Met Office predicts rain and thundershowers in parts of the north today and tomorrow. In the northern atolls, southwest and west winds ranging from 10 and 20 mph are anticipated, with gusts up to 40 mph during showers.
Parts of the south will be affected by showers, with southwest and west winds ranging between five and 15 mph. Seas will be moderately calm and rough during showers, MET office said.
