The foundation stone of the government hospital to be built in Baa Thulhaadhoo has been laid.
The construction project, awarded to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) at MVR 124 million, aims to establish a modern 30-bed hospital in Thulhaadhoo. The hospital is set to be completed within a targeted timeframe of 18 months.
The foundation stone of the hospital was laid by Health Minister Ahmed Naseem, Thulhaadhooo MP Hisaan Hussain, MTCC CEO Adam Azim, and Thulhaadhoo Council President Ibrahim Adil at a ceremony held in Thulhaadhoo Monday.
In addition to the hospital project, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's government is also working on constructing an airport in Thulhaadhoo. The land required for airport construction is currently being dredged. A shore protection project, a 100-unit housing project, the construction of a turf football ground and a multi-purpose hall in Thulhaadhoo School, and the construction of the FENAKA utility office are also ongoing in Thulhaadhoo.
