Gender Minister Aishath Mohamed Didi has signed up for the main-ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
A senior MDP official told AVAS that Minister Aisha signed up for the MDP a few days ago after actively supporting President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's re-election efforts.
“It has not been long since Minister Aisha joined MDP. The minister is now an MDP member," he said.
Highlighting her dedication to MDP, Minister Aisha handed over the membership forms of 85 newly signed up MDP members to President Solih on Tuesday. The MDP official told AVAS that the new members recruited by Minister Aisha to the MDP are mainly from Addu City.
With Minister Aisha signing up to the MDP, out of the 18-minister Cabinet, a total of 11 ministers now belong to the MDP
