Pres Solih urges campaign teams to intensify efforts ahead of election

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has called upon MDP campaign teams to escalate their efforts in the final stretch before the presidential election.

Speaking at a campaign event at Hulhudhoo, Addu City, today, President Solih said the time for the presidential election is closely approaching. He implored his supporters to remain active in campaigning for him to secure victory on Saturday, urging them to forgo sleep and rest for the next two days. He emphasized that they could return home and rest once his victory was assured.

"What I have to say to the campaign teams is to step up the pace. There is no time for sleep for the next two days. We can rest at home after casting our votes. We will settle this matter in a single round," he declared.

The President said he has visited many islands during the presidential election campaign and commended the efforts of his campaign teams in all islands. He asserted that his visit to Addu City reaffirmed his prospects of winning the election and emphasized that a similar level of enthusiasm was present across all islands. President Solih further stated his expectation of receiving over 130,000 votes in the election and said he would win the election in a single round if the anticipated number of votes were received.
