A total of fifteen teams have been formed for the transitional period, Transitional Spokesperson Mohamed Firuzul Abdulla Khaleel has said.
Firuzul disclosed to reporters that these fifteen teams had been assembled to oversee the transitional phase, with special training provided to them the previous day. He emphasized that the teams have been instructed not to share information with the media following their meetings with various institutions. However, daily press conferences will be convened at 11 a.m. to provide updates on their progress and activities, he said.
Firuzul added while the practical work of the transitional phase starts today, there is no particular order that would be followed in visiting institutions and agencies. Each team will work to complete their assigned work as soon as possible, he said and added that the teams had been repeatedly told to be careful with the information they receive from state institutions.
Firuzul indicated that invitations have been extended to representatives of several countries with whom the Maldives has diplomatic ties to attend President-Elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's swearing-in ceremony. Additional invitations are currently in the process of being sent.
Firuzul also noted the circulation of some Telegram messages under President-Elect Muizzu's name and urged the public to exercise vigilance, clarifying that these messages do not come from the President-Elect or his representatives.
